Congratulations to Nicky!
Our wonderful Nicky has just celebrated her 1st year Anniversary with us! We spoke to Nicky this week about her career change, this is what she told us:
I joined Care Wyvern in May 2022: from my previous career as a Child Care Deputy manager at a pre-school in Taunton, I was there for 18 years and really loved it, however, after 18 years I decided it was time for a new challenge, so I looked into the care industry, I had looked after my Nan, so I felt may have something to offer other individuals who required care and support. I looked at a few care companies, Care Wyvern stood out to me as it was a smaller company and felt more personalized.
I really liked the atmosphere at Care Wyvern and every one that I met was very warm and welcoming, I started my induction, and realized that I knew far more about care than I thought. On my shadowing shift, they paired me up with a very experienced Key Worker Lizzie, who was very helpful and supportive, I asked questions and Lizzie was always happy to answer. I received great feedback from both my colleagues and clients, saying that “I was a breath of fresh air” This made the change totally worth it.
My year at Care wyvern has been great, I have learnt so much, and face each day with a smile on my face, which also means my clients have a smile on their faces. I have almost completed my Diploma level 2 in Health and Social care, and hope to achieve my level 3 in the next year. The job does have its challenges, but I really enjoy overcoming them and finding a solution. It was the best thing I did taking the jump to change my career; I can honestly say I love my job; I love working with everyone, the clients, my colleagues and management. Care Wyvern are the best company I have worked for.
Nicky has brought kindness, empathy and lots of laughs to Carewyvern.
